Natural Cover is Concentrated!

Just this much product will provide adequate, even coverage for most faces! Gradually add more Natural Cover until you achieve the coverage you desire.

Be sure to apply Performing Powder to the entire Natural Cover surface evenly and completely by pressing the puff against your skin, overlapping each press of the puff. Don't twist or slide the puff. Your skin should feel soft and dry to the touch. If it feels moist or damp, add more powder.

The buildup of dead flaky skin cells can cause your foundation to look "cakey." Exfoliation removes dead skin cells so you'll get the best results from your foundation. Masks and scrubs are easy ways to exfoliate your skin everyday.

Step 1: Moisturize and Prepare your skin

Our Moisturizer is an ideal formulation to hydrate your skin before applying Natural Cover. Squeeze out a small amount and gently massage into your skin. Wait a few seconds to allow the moisturizer to be completely absorbed into the skin before you apply your foundation. If you have very oily skin, you may choose to omit the moisturizer completely.

Step 2: Select and Test your shade

Your kit contains a selection of coordinated shades that have been carefully chosen for your skin tone range. These shades will allow you to modify your shade should your skin tone change with the season. If you will be using Natural Cover to conceal a specific skin discoloration, match your shade to the skin surrounding the area you want to conceal. To use Natural Cover as an all over foundation, match your shade to the color of your neck by applying it along the jaw line to test.

Choose a shade that seems to match your skin tone best. Apply it. If it's the wrong shade, simply wipe it off with your sponge and try another. You can customize your shade by blending two shades together, using the back of your hand as a palette. If, after trying all of the shades you can't seem to find the right one for you, you may have the wrong kit for your skin tone range. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-752-0066 for assistance.

Step 3: Application Techniques

You can apply Natural Cover using two different techniques. The amount of Natural Cover you need is determined by the size and degree of discoloration you wish to conceal. Remember, Natural Cover is concentrated, so a very small amount goes a long way.

Dot & Blend

To spot cover a specific discoloration, dot a small amount of Natural Cover on and around the discoloration. Using short strokes, blend it out evenly about an inch in all directions. If necessary, apply more Natural Cover directly on the discoloration, lightly pat and dab until the area is completely concealed. If you will be using Natural Cover as an all over foundation, dot it all over your face and blend it out to a smooth, even layer with your fingertips. For more coverage, add more dots.

Direct Sponge Application

For the lightest application of Natural Cover, dot it on with your fingertip and blend it out with your sponge. The sponge will leave the lightest application of Natural Cover on your skin. You may also use the sponge to even out the texture where you have large pores or fine lines.

Use just one technique or a combination of the two to achieve a flawless, natural looking complexion!

Step 4: Performing Powder

Performing Powder is the secret to Natural Cover's great performance. It blossoms the color and bonds with Natural Cover to create a silky, smooth, natural looking surface that is 100% waterproof and will last all day.

First remove the protective seal from the plastic sifter. Tap some of the powder onto a clean tissue and pick up a generous amount on the puff. Apply it by pressing on an even layer all over the Natural Cover surface. Don't twist or slide the puff. Continue pressing the puff over the entire area, overlapping each press of the puff - wherever Natural Cover has been applied. Natural Cover will absorb the powder and your skin should feel silky, smooth and dry to the touch. Go back and apply more to any areas that feel moist. Don't miss a spot! You may brush away any excess powder using a soft brush.

If you need to touch up during the day, carry my Pressed Performing Powder with you in our convenient, mirrored compact. To order Pressed Powder in your shade and Oil Control Complex, call Customer Service for assistance.

Step 5: Removing Natural Cover

When you're ready to remove your makeup, simply wash your face with a good skin cleansing bar or lotion. Avoid using any harsh detergents that can strip natural oil from the skin leaving it feeling tight and dry. You may want to use a special cleansing cloth or makeup removal pads, as Natural Cover may stain facecloths or towels.

For the best results, keep your skin in great condition!

Many of the problems we blame on our makeup - it looks blotchy or it looks cakey, - are really caused by poor skin condition. A healthy diet, plenty of rest, drinking lots of water, and consistent skin care can give you the glowing complexion you're looking for. Follow these easy steps to great looking skin:

1. Cleanse your face

A thorough cleansing is a must for keeping your skin in great condition. A gentle cleansing solution or bar is best -- avoid harsh detergents that will strip the oil from your skin and leave it tight and dry. Always be sure to remove all traces of makeup before bedtime.

2. Exfoliate your skin

Gently exfoliate every day to make your skin as smooth as possible before you apply your makeup. There are many different ways to exfoliate including scrubs, masks and glycolics or AHAs. Be sure to use a scrub that contains microscopic beads, which will roll gently over your skin to remove dead, flaky skin cells without scratching or irritating. Don't use anything that feels sharp or rough on your face!

You can use a mask several times per week to loosen layers of dead, flaky skin. Again, don't try to use anything too harsh or you are likely to get irritated skin instead of the healthy glow you are seeking!

Glycolic acid or fruit acid creams can be used to exfoliate your skin overnight. After thorough cleansing, apply these creams to your face avoiding the delicate area around your eyes. NEVER use any glycolic or fruit acid creams near your eyes! The cream will gradually dissolve dead skin cells to reveal new skin underneath. If you have never used an acid before, mix it half and half with your favorite moisturizer for about one week before using it full strength.

You may find that when you begin exfoliating there will be lots of flaking skin at first. As time goes on, and your skin condition improves, you should not have to exfoliate as often to keep your skin silky smooth.

3. Toning

After cleansing and exfoliating, you may want to use a toner to close your pores and prepare your skin for makeup. There are many different types of toners to choose -- but be sure to avoid toners containing alcohol, which can dry your skin.

4. Moisturizer

After cleansing and exfoliating, you should always apply a moisturizer. A moisturizer does not have to be heavy to work well. In fact, it should absorb into the skin rather than laying on top. Linda's Cream Gel Moisturizer is ideal to wear under Natural Cover because it absorbs quickly and is never greasy. If you choose to use another kind of moisturizer, be sure it does not contain large amounts of oil, or it may interfere with your Natural Cover application.

5. Eye Area

Skin around the eyes requires special attention to keep it wrinkle free and moisturized, since there are no oil glands in this area to provide natural moisture. There are many kinds of creams to choose from -- some are suitable for day wear, and others are more heavy and concentrated making them ideal for night time moisturizing. Choose an oil-free cream if you would like to wear it with Natural Cover during the day.

6. T-zone

For some of us, the skin on the forehead, nose and chin ("the T-zone") may be oily while the rest of the skin is dry. If may be best for you to avoid applying moisturizer to this area prior to applying Natural Cover. However, make sure to exfoliate regularly to keep this skin in tip top condition.

Applying Color: Using Glamour Enhancers

Once you've created a flawless, new Natural Cover complexion, you can enhance your features with color. I've taken the guesswork out of choosing the right shades by creating a coordinated palette of color for each skin tone range.

I've described each of the Glamour Enhancers below in the order in which they should be applied. If you have any difficulty with application or questions about the products, please call Customer Service at 1-800-752-0066 for assistance!

Step 1: Blush
Each mirrored compact contains two natural shades that are correct for your skin tone range. You can use either shade individually or blend both together to create a third neutral shade.

Where to Apply Blush
Place your blush brush along the angle of your jaw line. Blush applied parallel to this line will be angled correctly.

If there is an obvious indentation under your cheekbone, that is where you should start applying blush, and where the deepest color should be. If there is no indentation, you can create one with blush approximately halfway between the outer corner of your eye and the jaw line.

Always apply powder blush from the hairline forward, so that the color is the darkest toward the back and lightens as it comes forward. Do both sides before going on to the next step to be sure the two sides match.

How to Blend Shades
Sweep the brush back and forth several times across the shades. Dab the brush in the palm of your hand to blend the shades and remove excess color. If you accidentally apply too much blush, erase it with a tiny dab of foundation blended with a fingertip.

Step 2: Eye Pencil
The eye pencil can be used on both the upper and lower lids to add depth and definition to your eyes. Make sure your pencil is sharp and draw a fine line along your upper lid close to the lashes and angling the line upward as you reach the end of your eye. You may choose to smudge the line slightly with a Q-tip or sponge. You may also draw a fine line close to the lashes on your lower lid.

Long Lasting Color
Try lining your eyes with the pencil and then applying one of the darker eyeshadows over the pencil with a wedge brush for long lasting color.

Step 3: Eye Shadow
Each compact contains four shadows that not only add color and definition to the eye, but may be used to contour and highlight. Begin by applying the lightest shades, lightly blending with your brush where two shades meet.

Color
Generally speaking, the darkest shades are used on the upper lid and to line under the lower lashes. The medium tones may be used in the crease or to create the illusion of a crease. The lightest shades are normally applied to the brow bone, but if your eyes are deep-set, you may want to apply a light shade on the upper lid to enhance the shape of your eye.

Step 4: Lip Pencil
Define your lip shape using a lip pencil before applying lipstick. If you feel that your lips are too thin, you can create a new fuller shape by carefully drawing a new lip line just outside your actual lip line. If you feel that your lips are too full, draw a new lip line just inside your actual lip line. Don't stray too far from your actual shape!

Long Lasting Color
For even richer long lasting color, line and fill in your lips with lip pencil and then apply lipstick.

Help for Dry Lips
My Vitamin E stick provides relief and moisture for dry, chapped lips. Apply before lip pencil and lipstick to seal fine dry lines.

Step 5: Lipstick
My lipsticks come in classic colors that will never be discontinued. Apply directly to lips from the compact, or use a lip brush. Each shade is highly pigmented and formulated to be long lasting. I add new shades to the line periodically -- ask your Customer Service Representative about the newest shades that may be right for you!

Combinations
You may want to try creating exciting new shades by combining any two of the classic shades, for example: 1) cognac and clay,
2) wine and mocha, and
3) mocha and rosewood.
And, as its name suggests, Earthtone Blender can be worn alone or blended with any of the classic shades to create a new neutral shade.
